  • BASIC PURPOSE: The Legal Counsel is responsible for providing legal support across any or all functions of the South Asia business, predominantly focused on India, but some tasks may be relevant to other parts of the India subcontinent and Sri Lanka.  The position reports to the Chief Counsel South Asia & Indochina, as part of a team of 5 legal counsels bringing a business orientation and focus on problem solving, while upholding strong ethics and integrity across the organization. 

      

    The Legal Counsel is charged with providing high quality and responsive legal support and guidance to the South Asia business as part of the legal team; establishing collaborative relationships with colleagues both within and outside the local business; and managing external legal resources within budgets as directed by the Chief Counsel.

     

    Candidate Experience Profile

    Education: Post graduate degree in Law from a recognized University; Company Secretarial qualification will be an added advantage

     

    Experience: At least 8-10 years Post Qualification experience either as an in-house legal advisor in a large corporation with multiple locations and manufacturing facilities or in a reputed Law firm handling business transaction and advisory; Company Secretarial, Tax and / or Compliance experience will be an added advantage.
