  • The only Magic Circle firm not to have pursued a formal alliance with an Indian law firm.  However, the firm does work closely with both Platinum Partners and Bharucha & Partners. India head Pratap Amin is one of the best known foreign lawyers in the market. 

RECENT INDIA ACTIVITY:

T. Rowe Price joint venture

Advised the US firm T. Rowe Price on its US$130 million joint venture with UTI Asset Management company in January 2010. Platinum Partners advised T. Rowe Price in India.   

Bharti Airtel and MTN merger

Advised MTN in the abandoned merger between Indian telecoms giant Bharti Airtel and South Africa's MTN in 2009. The deal would have been worth around US$23 billion.
