RECENT INDIA ACTIVITY:

Reliance Power IPO

Cleary Gottlieb represented the underwriters, led by Kotak Mahindra Capital Company and UBS Securities India, in an initial public offering by Reliance Power Limited of 260 million equity shares listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India. The $2.93 billion offering was the largest IPO in Indian history. The transaction closed on February 1 2008. 

Tata Steel GDR offering

Represented Tata Steel in 2009 in connection with its offering of 65,410,589 global depository receipts (GDRs), raising approximately US$500 million. The offering was also accompanied by the listing of the company's GDRs on the London Stock Exchange.
