RECENT INDIA ACTIVITY:

Acquisition of Benzler-Radicon group by The Elecon Engineering Company.

In 2010/11  BLP advised on the English law aspects of Elecon’s £18.4m acquisition of the Benzler-Radicon group of businesses from David Brown Gear Systems. Elecon is a listed Indian gearbox manufacturer.

 

BLP advises Great Eastern Energy Corporation

BLP advised Great Eastern Energy Corporation, India's first producer of coal-bed methane gas, on the introduction of its Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) to the London Stock Exchange's Standard List and to admission to trading on the Main Market at a market capitalisation of £570m. The GDRs were previously listed on AIM.

Diligenta secures deal with Phoenix Group and Old Mutual International

 A completed a deal which saw Diligenta, TCS's wholly owned UK life & pensions industry BPO provider, secured major business wins with Phoenix Group and Old Mutual International following the sale of Unisys Insurance Services Limited’s UK life & pensions services business to Diligenta. This deal, which was valued at £250m, was also named as one of the 2010 Deals of the Year by the India Business Law Journal (IBLJ)es - completed a deal which saw Diligenta, TCS's wholly owned UK life & pensions industry BPO provider, secure major business wins with Phoenix Group and Old Mutual International following the sale of Unisys Insurance Services Limited’s UK life & pensions services business to Diligenta.
