    In 2008 HDFC Bank acquired Centurion Bank of Punjab. The newly amalgamated bank emerged with about Rs. 1,22,000 crore in deposits and net advances of about Rs.89,000 crore. To build on the acquisition, HDFC recently said that it would look for a merger with a bank in the southern part of the country.
