  • Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is reported to be playing a large part in a project linking all of India with optical fibre cables from 2011-2013. This integration of villages is seen as a key way of expanding what is being called "the knowledge network", providing an alternative way of being educated in order to make up for India's lack of academic institutions.
